Communication Arts, Payap University, improved curriculum for the Thailand 4.0 Digital; emphasis on social responsibilities for producing communication media professionals for the ASEAN.

     Assistant Professor Dr. Suthida Patanasreevishian, the dean of Faculty of Communication Arts, Payap University, stated that the faculty wishes to produce the communication-media professionals serving society with consistent dynamics.  Since the previous academic year, the curriculum has been updated emphasizing each subject with varieties, so as to well prepare our students for adaptation to the world of digital media communication; while also sustaining the significance of the traditional communication media with modern technologies. Cultivating students to have knowledge and skills in producing and selecting the overall media; capable of integrating various communication media in the era of convergent media.  While also instills in our students with conscience of social responsibilities according to the Motto “Truth-Service” that is the foundation of Payap University.    
     Additionally, students have the internships opportunities to well prepare them for the real professions with capabilities in the real communication media productions, including knowledge about the mass media in the Asia Pacific region; having English language skills in communication arts to apply for jobs and continue to work in the future, both at home and abroad.  Sample courses that meet the learning needs of students and the current changing world: aesthetics with creativity course; science of illustrations and updated media; digital media communications; strategic communications; mass media in the Southeast Asia; production of digital media; digital media and the changing world; foreign news translations; movies-productions; the organization-image; the arts and advertising designs; and social communications, etc.
     Selections of study programs: Faculty of Communication Arts, Payap University, has three paths for students’ selections following students’ dreams and aptitude.  The first path is “promotion of businesses and organizations” to create communication-contents to lead businesses and organizations to success.  The second path is “journalism and integration”, which combines the traditional journalism and digital creative journalism in the era of integrated media.  And the path of “innovative communications” for the students who have ambition to work in media-productions.  The students will learn techniques for producing the in-depth original media and digital media; cover various innovative communications in the knowledge-society.  The Communication Arts Faculty strongly wishes our graduates must possess the knowledge, skills and creative thinking for productions of Convergence-Media; capable of applying the appropriate communication-technologies; realize the social responsibilities both as the communication professionals and as the professional entrepreneurs.
