College of Music, Payap University, has joined the announced intention to propel urban development project under the name “Chiang Mai Music City”.

     According to Chiang Mai Province’s declaration on using cultural arts to propel urban development project under the name "Chiang Mai Music City".  The press release was on October the 11th 2016:  The project has outlined musical tourism support. The Lanna Music to the World project is under the supervision of Professor Bringkop Vonurai who teaches in College of music, Payap  University.  The selection of Chiang Mai skillful musicians to produce voice recording to publish globally.  To promote the Lanna musicians known to the World Music circles on the same status with Kitaro, Yanni, and to attract interests in Lanna music to visit Chiang Mai to help economic development of Chiang Mai Province. 
     College of Music, Payap University, being the leading musical education institute in Chiang Mai, that has been teaching music for 45 years:  Having modern recording room, skillful musical personnel at the international standards, hence the project on “Lanna Music to the World”; so as to support the Chiang Mai Music City project, collaborate producing the contemporary Lanna Music that demonstrates the skills in musical instruments and production standard that can be published into the world music circles.  The Lanna musician teacher Panutut Apishanathong has been invited to produce the song with the composed harmonized vocal backup by personnel of College of Music, under the supervision of Mr. Michael Zager – the world-famous producer.
