Payap University Signs Strategic MOU with Yunnan Light and Textile Industry Vocational College, China Kunming, China – January 2026
On January 8, 2026, Payap University successfully concluded a historic visit to Yunnan Light and Textile Industry Vocational College (YLTIVC) in Kunming, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China, culminating in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic cooperation.
The Payap delegation, led by Mr. Apicha Insuwan, President of Payap University, included Asst. Prof. Dr. Theeralak Satjawathee, Dean of the Interdisciplinary Studies College, and Ms. Zhao Yubing, Secretary and translator f r o m the Interdisciplinary Studies College. The delegation was warmly received by Mr. Mao Yibo, Secretary of the Party Committee of YLTIVC, Mr. Liu Yongkuan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the College, together with more than ten members of the senior management team.
During the visit, the delegation toured the college’s advanced facilities, including the Healthcare Service Laboratory for elderly care and the exhibition hall showcasing award-winning fashion works by students and faculty.
The highlight was the MOU Signing Ceremony, formalizing a five-year partnership focused on:
• Joint cultural and academic exchanges and research
• Faculty, staff, and student exchanges
• Information sharing on teaching and research
• Enhancement of academic qualifications
• Other mutually beneficial activities
Specific initiatives will be implemented through supplementary agreements.
The visit concluded with a friendly luncheon featuring local Yunnan cuisine, fostering further goodwill between the two institutions.
This MOU strengthens educational ties between Thailand and Yunnan Province, aligning with broader Thailand–China cooperation in education and digital economy development.
